Ric Mixter
Rick Mixter has produced over 30 shows on local history for PBS and the outdoor channel and has appeared on the History and Discovery Channel as a shipwreck expert.  Energetic and animated, he has changed the way lecturers share history.  From interactive video links to rare interviews and underwater video, Mixter provides valuable insight into the history of commercial shipping and its hazards on the Great Lakes.  More information at http://ricmixter.com.
Bottled Goodbyes -  Bottled messages have been discovered on shore nearly as long as glass containers have been invented. They bring tidings from ocean voyagers, invitations for pen-pals, tragic attempts for rescue and floating farewells form long lost souls. Based on Ric Mixter's new book, Bottled Goodbyes chronicles the most famous messages ever recovered from around the world and back to the Great Lakes. Bottled Goodbyes covers interesting recoveries from the Titanic, The Plymouth and Lightship 82, both lost in The Great Storm of 1913 and the Christmas Tree Ships that sailed the Great Lakes in the 1800s.
